Improper packing

Importers and shippers should be aware that cargo insurance will only cover damage to your cargo if your goods are deemed properly packaged for international transit.  We routinely see claims denied when the insurance surveyor determines the package was not sufficiently packaged or protected. If you have repetitive damage claims or want to ensure proper protection, we recommend having a professional packing company review your packaging procedures.

Chinese New Year Is Around the Corner

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays.  2010 is the year of the Tiger on the Chinese calendar.

It also means that most Chinese businesses in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will be closed before and after February 14, 2010 which is the first day of Chinese New Year.

Our partner offices in China and Taiwan will be closed from February 13th to February 21st.  Our partners in Hong Kong will be closed from February 13th to February 16th.  Some businesses may be closed additional days. These closures will disrupt sailing schedules and port operations. Importers and exporters should expect amended shipping schedules and adjust their shipment lead times accordingly.
